There’s always something special about seeing our children take over the church—singing, learning, asking questions, sharing their gifts and simply being themselves.
Tomorrow, Sunday, August 9, 2026, we get to celebrate them once again as Assemblies of God Nigeria, Macaulay – Restoration Centre joins Assemblies of God churches across Nigeria for National Children’s Day 2026.
This annual celebration is observed across the Assemblies of God family in Nigeria through the Children Education Department (CED), giving churches nationwide an opportunity to celebrate children and highlight the importance of investing in the next generation.
The National Children’s Day is not only about giving our children a special day in church.
It is also a reminder of the responsibility we have as parents, teachers, leaders and members of the church to help children grow into who God has created them to be.
The Children Education Department plays an important role in this. Through Bible teaching, worship, activities and guidance, CED helps create an environment where children can learn about God while developing the values and character they need as they grow.
And every year, this celebration gives us a chance to pause, appreciate our children and remind them that they matter.
Breaking Barriers to Greatness
This year’s celebration comes with the theme:
“Breaking Barriers to Greatness: Productivity and Prosperity.”
It is a theme that speaks directly to the future of our children.
Every child has potential, but potential needs encouragement, guidance and the right environment to grow. Sometimes, what a child needs most is simply someone who believes in them and helps them see that they can become more than their present circumstances.
As a church, we want our children to grow with faith, confidence, good character and a sense of purpose.
We want them to understand that being young does not mean they cannot make a difference.
Their journey starts now.
Celebrating Our Children at AGN Macaulay
Here at AGN Macaulay – Restoration Centre, we are excited to join churches across the country in celebrating this special occasion.
For us, it is another opportunity to invest in the children God has placed in our care and to celebrate the wonderful things happening in their lives.
Our church vision says it clearly:
Raising Champions for Christ.
And that vision includes our children.
We believe that the children sitting in our classrooms today can become tomorrow’s leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, ministers, parents and people of influence—men and women who will make a difference in their generation while remaining grounded in Christ.
That is why what we teach them today matters.
A Celebration We All Have a Part In
While CED plays an important role in children’s ministry, raising the next generation is something we all have a part in.
Parents have a part.
Teachers have a part.
Church leaders have a part.
And the entire church family has a part.
Every prayer, every lesson, every encouragement and every good example can make a lasting difference in the life of a child.
So tomorrow, as we gather to celebrate, let’s do more than watch the children enjoy their day.
Let’s celebrate them. Let’s encourage them. Let’s pray for them. And let’s continue creating an environment where they can grow into everything God has designed them to become.
