There are some Sundays that feel different. Not necessarily because of the programme, the music, or even the activities, but because of what they remind us of.
Our Pastors’ Appreciation Day was one of those beautiful moments.
It was a day filled with gratitude, laughter, heartfelt words, presentations, prayers, and beautiful memories. But beyond the celebration itself, there were important lessons that we were reminded of.
Here are 5 things we learnt from our Pastors’ Appreciation Day.
- Appreciation Should Not Be Delayed
One of the biggest lessons from the celebration was the importance of appreciating people while they are still with us.
Leadership often comes with sacrifices that may not always be visible. The prayers, encouragement, counselling, time, concern, and countless moments spent serving others can easily go unnoticed.
Our celebration reminded us that sometimes, a simple “Thank you” can mean more than we realise.
We should not wait for a special occasion before we tell people that their lives and efforts matter.
- True Leadership Leaves an Impact
Over the past couple of years, we have witnessed the impact of our pastors in different areas of the church.
From encouraging a stronger prayer life to caring for members and contributing to the growth and transformation of the church, their season with us has left memories and lessons that will remain with us.
True leadership is not only measured by what is accomplished. It is also measured by the lives that are touched along the way.
A good leader may build structures, organise programmes, and lead a congregation, but a great leader also leaves people better than they met them.
- Godly Leadership Transcends Generations
One of the most beautiful sights during the celebration was seeing different generations participate.
The Men’s Department, Women’s Department, Youth, Children, Teens, Royal Rangers and Band all had their moments of appreciation.
That was more than a beautiful display. It showed us that godly leadership has the power to influence people at different stages of life.
When a leader points people consistently towards Christ, the impact does not stop with one generation.
It continues.
- Appreciation Is Also an Expression of Unity
The celebration brought the church together in a special way.
Different departments, different ages, different personalities, and different backgrounds all came together with one purpose: to celebrate and honour.
It reminded us that although we may serve in different departments and carry different responsibilities, we are still one church family.
There is something powerful about a church that can come together to celebrate one another.
- Every Season Deserves Gratitude
Our appreciation was not about comparing one pastor or one season with another.
We remain grateful for every pastor, leader, worker, and servant of God who has contributed to the story of our church over the years. Every season carries its own grace, and every servant leaves something behind.
This particular season has been blessed by the ministry of Rev. Dr. Blessed Sampson and Mummy, Evang. Mrs. Jeminimiema Jane Sampson, and we are grateful to God for the privilege of experiencing it.
Their story is now part of our story.
And that is worth celebrating.
At the end of the day, Pastors’ Appreciation Day was more than a programme on the church calendar.
It was a reminder to love intentionally, appreciate sincerely, honour godly leadership, and never take the people God places in our lives for granted.
We are grateful for the memories, the lessons, the prayers, the service, and the impact.
To our beloved pastors, thank you for this season.
And to everyone who joined us, served, celebrated, prayed, gave, or contributed in any way to making the day special — thank you for being part of the story.
May we continue to grow as a church that not only receives love, but also knows how to give it; not only receives leadership, but also knows how to honour it; and above all, continues to point every generation back to Jesus Christ.
