What a beautiful Sunday it was at Assemblies of God Nigeria, Macaulay – Restoration Centre!
On Sunday, August 9, 2026, our church was filled with the smiles, energy and excitement of our children as we joined Assemblies of God churches across Nigeria to celebrate National Children’s Day 2026 through the Children Education Department (CED).
With this year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers to Greatness: Productivity and Prosperity,” the celebration was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our children, encourage them and remind them that there is so much potential in them.
A Day All About the Children
From the moment the programme began, it was clear that our children were ready to make the day their own.
They participated in different activities, displayed their talents, learned new things and had plenty of moments to laugh and enjoy themselves.
And that is one of the beautiful things about children—they have a way of bringing life and joy wherever they go.
But while we enjoyed watching them, the celebration also gave us something important to think about.
What happens when we give children the opportunity to discover what they can do?
Sometimes, they surprise us.
Seeing Productivity in Action

One of the highlights of the celebration was Productive Hands, where some of our children came forward to demonstrate their skills.
We had children drawing and expressing their creativity on art boards, while another demonstrated her skill in hair braiding.
It was wonderful to watch them work with their hands and turn their ideas into something real.
It may have looked like a simple activity, but it carried a much bigger message: our children are capable of creating, learning and being productive when they are given the opportunity.
This was one of the moments that brought this year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers to Greatness: Productivity and Prosperity,” to life.
A Word for Parents
We also had the opportunity to hear from one of our guests, Rev. Moses Austin, who shared his thoughts after experiencing the programme.
He spoke about how much he enjoyed the activities and encouraged parents to pay attention to technology and help their children develop skills in that area, especially as the world continues to move in that direction.
It was a timely reminder that preparing our children for the future means giving them opportunities to learn, explore and develop skills that will be useful in the world they are growing into.
Thank You to Everyone Who Made It Possible
A celebration like this does not happen without people working behind the scenes.
We are especially grateful to our CED teachers, coordinators and volunteers who gave their time, energy and attention to the children throughout the programme.
From preparing for the celebration to guiding the children during the activities, your contribution helped make the day special.
We also appreciate our parents and guardians for their continued support and for trusting us with the children.
Most importantly, we give all glory to God for a successful celebration.
Thank You, Children!
To all the children who participated, performed, created, learned and simply made the day what it was—thank you for making the celebration special.
We celebrate you, we believe in you and we pray that you will continue to grow into all that God has designed you to become.
Happy National Children’s Day 2026!
